MAAC Player of the Week
Jessika-Jo Sandrini, Siena, So., P/OF, Adna, Wash./Adna

Sandrini hit .471 (8-for-17) in six games played, with three home runs, seven RBI, and six runs scored. She also had three doubles, and posted a slugging percentage of 1.176 on the week. Her standout efforts included a 3-for-3, 3-RBI game against Niagara (4/20), one where she also pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits while fanning eight batters and walking none. As a pitcher, Sandrini went a perfect 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA and struck out 17 hitters in 19 innings pitched. She also allowed just one hit in a win over Hartford (4/18).


MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Jen Consaul, Canisius, So., P, 5-9, Chili, N.Y./Churchville-Chili

Consaul went 3-0 with a 0.70 ERA and 10 strikeouts last week in three starts to improve her record to a team-best 8-8 on the year. In the Griffs' 5-0 win over Manhattan April 21, on the road, the Chili, N.Y., native went the distance and fanned five while allowing just two singles for her 10th complete-game effort of 2012 and her fourth shutout win of the season. She earned her 15th career win April 20, after she allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits in seven innings of work at Saint Peter's, and she also posted a complete-game shutout in the team's 8-0 victory over St. Bonaventure April 17. Defensively, she was credited with five fielding assists, and at the plate, she drew a base-on-balls and was credited with a successful sacrifice against St. Bonaventure.


MAAC Rookie of the Week
Michelle DelPrince, Canisius, Fr., OF, 5-3, Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster

DelPrince hit .389 (7-for-18) with two home runs, four runs scored and eight RBIs last week as the Golden Griffins went 4-2 overall and 3-1 in MAAC action. In the Griffs' sweep of Saint Peter's April 20, the freshman outfielder helped lead the Blue and Gold to a 5-3 win in game one with her first career homer, a grand slam in the fourth inning, and she followed that by going 1-for-3 with a stolen base in the nightcap. Against Manhattan on April 21, DelPrince hit a two-run home run in the first game as the Griffs defeated the Jaspers 5-0 on the road. She had two hits and two RBIs in the team's 8-0 win over St. Bonaventure April 17, and she closed out the week with a .421 on-base percentage and a .722 slugging percentage.
