Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - The 2012 MAAC Men's and Women's Golf Championships begin Friday at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Highlights from all three rounds, produced by ESPN, will be available on MAAC.TV at the end of each day.

In addition, live scoring will be available via Golfstat.com for all three days of the championships. The live results will be updated on every third hole.

The men's championship, played from the blues tees on the par-72, 7,073-yard course, begins at 7:30 a.m. on Friday from the tenth hole. The women, hitting from the gold tees on the 6,027-yard course, begin play at 7:50 a.m. on the first hole. Men's and women's tee times are linked above.

The Loyola University Maryland men's team, four-time defending MAAC champions, heads into the tournament as the season's top-ranked team. The Greyhounds are led by senior Jay Mulieri, who enters the weekend having shot par or better for five straight rounds. Adding to Loyola's firepower is classmate Patrick McCormick, who tied for the individual lead after 54 holes in 2011, but lost a one-hole playoff to Siena's Don Denyse.

On the women's side, Siena College will be favored to win its 12th consecutive MAAC title. All five of the Saints' competing golfers sit in the top-10 of the latest MAAC rankings. The University of Hartford, led by 2010 individual champion Sarah Sideranko, could prove to be Siena's top challengers.

The men's and women's individual champions will each receive McLeod Memorial Award trays engraved by JJ Mele of Pelham who has prepared every award offered by the program. Both of the 2012 Champions will have their names inscribed on the permanent McLeod Memorial Award Tray.

The Charles "Scott" McLeod Award has been presented annually since 1986 to the men's and women's individual winners of the MAAC Championship. The award has been presented in memory of a graduate of Pelham Memorial High School '75 and Iona College '80, who passed away in 1985. Scott McLeod was an enthusiastic golfer, a member of the Pelham Country Club, and a sponsor of the MAAC Golf Championship when the event was first held at Pelham.

The MAAC men's and women's champions will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Division I Golf Championships. This is the first year the women's champion will receive an AQ since the expansion of the league.
