Marist, Fairfield To Play for MAAC Women's Tennis Championship

West Windsor, N.J. - Marist and Fairfield will again meet in the MAAC
Women's Tennis Championship for the fourth time in five seasons.
The second-ranked Red Foxes earned a hard-fought win over Loyola, 4-3, in
their semifinal bout. Marist lost the doubles point, but were able to win the first,
second, fourth and fifth singles matches to advance on.
Led by MAAC Women's Tennis Player of the Year Monica Yajima, Fairfield swept
fourth-seeded Saint Peter's 7-0 to earn their fifth-consecutive trip into the
title match, never dropping a set. The Stags defeated Marist in their regular
season matchup 6-1, but lost to Marist in last year's championship.
The women's championship will begin at approximately 12:00 p.m.
