MAAC Announces 2012 Softball All-Academic Team

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - A total of 61 athletes comprise the 2012 MAAC Softball All-Academic Team, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced today.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale. Marist College led all schools with 11 student athletes. Niagara University added nine to the team, while Iona College had eight. Canisius College, Rider University and Siena College each had seven student-athletes. Manhattan College and Saint Peter's College both had five athletes named to the team, while Fairfield University rounded out the team with two representatives.
