Bryan Da Cruz - Niagara University
Men's Soccer, Sr., F, 5-11, Barrie, Ont./Innisdale
Senior forward Bryan Da Cruz from the Niagara men's soccer team had a five-point weekend for the Purple Eagles as the team won a pair of non-conference games, extending their winning streak to three games. In the 2-1 overtime victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday, Da Cruz set up the game-winning goal off a corner kick in the 95th minute of play. He also contributed a corner kick helper in the Purple Eagles first tally of the contest. On Sunday, the Barrie, Ont. native earned a three-point night against St. Bonaventure, notching his third goal of the season at the 83rd minute to break the 2-2 tie. He also set up the first goal for NU to aid the team in remaining unbeaten since the start of the 2012 campaign. The senior finished the weekend with two goals and three assists, while accumulating eight shots. Da Cruz currently leads the team in assists (4) as well as shots (23), while second on the Purple Eagles in goals (3).
Molly Leidig - Fairfield University
Women's Cross Country, Jr., Landenberg, Pa./Ursuline Academy (Del.)
Co-captain Molly Leidig has been consistently in the Stags' top-five throughout her career at Fairfield University. In addition to running at Fairfield's Fr. Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational this past weekend, Leidig helped organize a Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink For the Cure® event in conjunction with the meet. As a whole, the Stags raised more than $2,600 for the Susan G. Komen foundation. Leidig, a junior, is majoring in communications with a minor in English.
