Rojeras and Coleman Named Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week

Edison, NJ - Manhattan College's Mikael Rojeras and Rider
University's La'tazah Coleman were named the Men's and Women's Indoor Track
& Field Performers of the Week.
Rojeras, a 6-0 junior
from Sala, Sweden, won two events at the NYRR Saturday Night at the Races at
the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center and qualified for the IC4A
Championships in both. After running the mile in a first-placed time of
4:12:98, Rojeras ran the anchor leg on the Jaspers' victorious 4 x 800 meter
relay squad. The quartet finished in 7:27:32, more than five seconds ahead of
the team from Princeton.
Coleman, a 5-8 freshman from Middletown, Delaware, led Rider to a runner-up finish at the Army
6-way meet on January 12. Coleman won both the 60 meter dash (7.68) and 200
meter dash (24.65). Both times were Rider records and she qualified for ECACs
in both events. Coleman's time in the 200 is currently 26th in the
NCAA.
The MAAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field
Championships will be held on Friday, February 15th at The Armory Track &
Field Center in New York City.
