Player of the Week
Catrina Warren, Iona, Jr., Outside Hitter, 6-0, Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Los Osos
Junior OH Catrina Warren filled the stat sheet this weekend in two important MAAC wins over Marist and Siena at home. Warren averaged 3.57 kills, 4.57 digs and 1.29 blocks per set to go along with three service aces. She posted back-to-back double-doubles with 15 kills and 20 digs in a four set win over the Red Foxes and 10 kills and 12 digs and a sweep of Siena. Warren has posted five straight double-doubles, 10 in her last 11 matches and a team-best 13 on the season. In the two MAAC matches this season where she failed to record a double-double she missed the mark by just one dig.
Libero of the Week
Emily Litwin, Canisius, Jr., Libero, 5-7, Williamsville, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy
Litwin averaged 5.17 digs per set in two Canisius sweeps to go along with 10 assists, three service aces and a 95.6 service reception percentage. Litwin posted 20 digs in the three-set sweep of Rider on Saturday, and then matched her career high with three service aces to go along with eight assists in the sweep of Saint Peter’s. The Griffs recorded kills on 20 of Litwin’s 45 service receptions on the weekend.
Rookie of the Week
Kaitlyn Griffin, Rider, Fr., 6-1, Middle Hitter, Chesapeake, Va. /Hickory
Griffin led Rider to a 2-1 week, with Rider defeating Delaware State and picking up a MAAC road win at Niagara. In 11 sets, Griffin accounted for 41 team points as she averaged 2.82 kills and 1.27 blocks per set. Against Delaware State, Griffin had six kills and six blocks in Rider's 3-0 win on October 23. At Canisius on October 26, Griffin hit .316 and had eight kills in a 3-0 loss. At Niagara, Rider won in five sets as Griffin compiled 17 kills (only one error) while hitting .516 with seven blocks.
