Martir, Lampe, Molloy, & Tobias Honored with MAAC Weekly Awards

Edison, N.J. – Rider University’s Matthan-Matthew Martir was named the MAAC Men's Swimmer of the Week, while Colleen Lampe of Marist College earned the award on the Women's side.  Marist University’s Sean Molloy and another Red Fox Kimberly Tobias were chosen as the Men’s and Women's Divers of the Week.

Rider’s Matthan-Matthew Martir finished first in both the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.51, and the 100 freestyle finishing in 47.11. The freshman also finished second in the 100 fly posting a finishing time of 51.66 in Rider’s tri-meet with La Salle and Delaware. Martir also swam the anchor leg of the 400 free relay that placed second with a time of 3:06.83.

Colleen Lampe led the Red Foxes to victory, going 3 for 3 in individual events in Marist’s 173-124 win over Fairfield University. She came in first place in the 800-meter freestyle finishing in 9:24.35, the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:25.6, and the 400-meter individual medley posting a time of 5:10.02. In the 800-meter freestyle, the freshman beat her opponent by 5.22 seconds, while also taking a 5.87 second lead over the second-place finisher in the 200-meter breaststroke. Again, taking first place over a Fairfield opponent, Lampe won the 400-meter Individual Medley in 6.13 seconds.

Sean Molloy, a senior from Marist, claimed 18 points in Marist’s victory over Fairfield last weekend. He took first place in the three-meter dive with a score of 291.15, and posted a 290.55 in the one-meter dive. Molloy was just 8.5 points away from qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.

Marist’s freshman Kimberly Tobias took first in the one-meter dive scoring a 247.95, and in the three-meter dive posting a 254.77 as Marist dominated in the diving events in the Red Foxes’ win over Fairfield. Tobias has already qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships and the ECAC Diving Championships after claiming first-place in six events in the three meets held this season.
