Fairfield Wins Second Consecutive MAAC Volleyball Championship

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. –Top-seeded Fairfield University defeated second-seeded Marist College in the 2013 MAAC Volleyball Championship to claim its second consecutive title at Siena’s Alumni Recreation Center.
The defending champion Fairfield took the match in three sets (25-16, 25-14, 25-15). Hayley Moyer, Caitlyn Stapleton, and Marilyn Peizer led the Stags with 10 kills apiece, while Rachel Romansky dished out a match-high 34 assists.
Romansky was named the 2013 tournament Most Outstanding Player. Joining her on the All-Tournament team are teammates Moyer and Stapleton, Marist’s Kelsey Lahey and Mackenzie Stephens, Iona’s McKenzie Humann, and Manhattan’s Ellie Wiekamp.
