2013 MAAC Field Hockey Championship Field Set for Friday

Edison, N.J. – The seeds are set for the 2013 Inaugural Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Field Hockey Championship, to be held Nov. 8-9 at the Ben Cohen Field on the campus of Rider University.
Rider University finished its regular season in the MAAC with a 4-1 win at Monmouth on Friday, and won a share of the league’s regular season championship, and the top seed in the upcoming championship, with a 5-1 mark in league play. The Broncs are 13-6 overall, and play in the MAAC Championship on Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. in the second semifinal game versus No. 4 seed Robert Morris University who earned a spot in the championship with a 4-3 win over Monmouth University today. The Colonials ended their 2013 campaign with an overall record of 10-7 and a 3-3 record in league play. The two teams previously faced off at Rider on Oct. 13 with the Broncs earning a 2-0 victory over the Robert Morris.
The first semifinal begins Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., when No. 2 seed Quinnipiac University faces No. 3 seed Bryant University. Quinnipiac, which defeated Siena 3-0 in its final match of the regular season, earn a share of the MAAC regular season championship title and second-seed in the championship with a 5-1 league record. The Bobcats finished the year with an overall mark of 12-6, and will face the third-seed Bryant University Bulldogs who completed their season with an overall record 11-6 and 4-2 in league matches. The last time the two teams played, Quinnipiac earned 1-0 victory in overtime over Bulldogs at home on Friday.
The championship game will take place Saturday, November 9 at 3pm. All three games will be featured on MAAC.TV. Tickets are on sale for the 2013 MAAC Field Hockey Championship at TicketLeap.
