Sedore, Mata, and Griffin Picked for Volleyball Weekly Awards

Player of the Week
Amanda Sedore, Niagara, Jr., Outside Hitter, 6-1, Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder
Junior outside hitter Amanda Sedore led Niagara in kills per sets with 4.62, points per set with 5.12 and had 3.25 digs per set as Niagara split its conference weekend matches against Iona and Manhattan. The Purple Eagles outlasted Iona in five sets on Saturday for their first five-set win of the season. Sedore had a career day as she played a major role in the win. Sedore's match-high 26 kills are the most by a Purple Eagle since 2011. Sedore also tied a career-high in digs with 17 en route to her sixth double-double of the season. Sedore led NU with 11 kills against Manhattan the next day to reach double-digit kills for the sixth straight match and 14th time this season.
Libero of the Week
Carsen Mata, Fairfield, Red-Shirt Jr., Libero, 5-7, Honolulu, Hawaii/Moanalua
Libero Carsen Mata averaged 4.89 digs and 1.44 assists for the Stags in their 3-0 week and helped the Stags extend their winning streak to 11 matches. She began the week by posted 10 digs, seven assists, and an ace in the Stags’ 3-0 victory over Sacred Heart. In the 3-0 win at St. Peter’s, Mata tallied 13 digs, an assist, and an ace. In Fairfield’s 3-0 win at Rider, she posted 21 digs, five assists, and an ace.
Rookie of the Week
Kaitlyn Griffin, Rider, Fr., Middle Hitter, 6-1, Chesapeake, Va. /Hickory
Griffin averaged 2.22 kills and 1 dig per set in Rider’s 1-2 week. In Rider’s win over Quinnipiac, Griffin hit .368 with nine kills and only two errors, while adding four digs. In Rider’s match against defending MAAC champion Fairfield on November 3, Griffin had eight kills and hit .280, making only one error as the Stags were pushed to the limit, defeating the Broncs by only two points in sets two and three.
