Cramer, Arciello, Hiller & Tobias Claim Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

Edison, N.J. – Rider University and Marist College claimed the four MAAC swimming and diving awards for the week of December 11th. Sam Cramer was named the MAAC men's swimmer of the week, while Maddie Arciello earned the award on the women's side. The Bronc’s Trevor Hiller is the MAAC men’s diver of the week, while the Red Foxes’ Kimberly Tobias takes home the award for the women.
Sam Cramer of Rider University swam in the ‘Big Al’ Open, one of the top competitions in the region this past weekend. Cramer took third place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:29.82. He also placed third in the 200 freestyle posting a time of 1:40.05, after moving up from seventh in the preliminaries. Cramer placed fourth in the 1650 freestyle in a Rider record time of 15:42.87. Cramer led off the 800 freestyle relay that swam in 6:52.56, where his time of 1:41.58 covered the first leg of the race. The freshman also swam the second leg of the 400 freestyle relay in 46.45, with a team finish of 3:05.98.
Senior Maddie Arciello swam in the H2ounds Invitational. Arciello was a part of four first-place relay teams throughout the weekend. She was the anchor of the 400 yard medley relay, which as the team finished with a time of 3:50.06. Arciello went on to lead off the 800 yard freestyle, in which the team won with a time of 7:42.43. She was also the lead-off in the 200 yard freestyle relay, as the Red Foxes clinched the victory in 1:36.86. Lastly, the senior led off to aid Marist to victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay, as the team finished in 3:28.90. She also won the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 23.85, and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 52.84. After taking first place in six events over the weekend, Arciello also claimed second place in the 200 yard freestyle posting a finishing time of 1:53.61
Diving against a field of NCAA qualifiers, Rider University’s Trevor Hiller more than held his own at Princeton’s ‘Big Al’ Open. Hiller was third in the finals of the one-meter competition with a score of 301.45 and eighth in the finals of the three-meter dive with a score of 255.30.
On the first day of the H2ounds Invitational, Marist’s Kimberly Tobias was the only Red Fox to place for the women’s one-meter dive, taking first place with a score of 239.70. Tobias went on to place second in the three-meter dive, with a score of 248.90 to assist the Red Foxes in their victories.
