Rider Men, Marist Women Lead the Way in Swimming and Diving

Buffalo, N.Y. - The Rider University men's and the Marist College women's swimming and diving teams continue to lead the league after two days of competition at the 2013 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Flickinger Athletic Center at Erie Community College.

The Rider men take the lead with 384 points, while Saint Peter's University stands in second place with 359.5 points.  Marist College is in third with 358.5 points, followed by Canisius College (354.5), Loyola University Maryland (279), Bryant University (271), Fairfield University (155), Manhattan College (151), Iona College (136) and Niagara University (134.5).

On the women's side, the Red Foxes have tallied 591 points, while Rider sits in second place with 402 points.  Loyola is in third with 306 points, followed by Canisius (294), Saint Peter's (249), Iona (246), Fairfield (207), Niagara (202), Siena (195) and Manhattan (62).

In tonight's session, the Rider men's 800 free relay team of Sean Newhouse, Johnny Charles-Funk, Julien Hensen and Brian Molloy set the MAAC record time for the event, finishing in 6:44.73.
