MAAC Sports
Offensive Player of the Week
Addie Reilly, Fairfield, Jr., Attack, 5-6 Locust Valley,
N.Y./Portledge
Reilly returned
in dramatic fashion after missing nearly 12 months due to an ACL injury as she
tallied a career-high nine points in the Stags season opening win at
Monmouth. The nine points, on five goals
and four assists, is the second-best single-game effort in program history, one
shy of the record. Reilly tallied her first point with a goal nearly ieght
minutes into the game, and then assisted on three consecutive goals as the
Stags extended a 3-1 lead to 6-1. After
Monmouth scored with 26 seconds left until intermission, Reilly answered with
seven ticks left. That started a three
goal run, which carried into the second-half and extended the lead to 9-2.
Reilly also had two draw controls in the victory.
Defensive Player of the Week
Katie Keenan, Fairfield, Sr., Goalkeeper, 5-7, Wantagh,
N.Y./Wantagh
Keenan earned her first win of the year, and 39th of her
career, as she led Fairfield to a 14-7 win at Monmouth on Saturday. She stopped five shots in the game and picked
up team-high equaling three ground balls in 53:42 of action. Four of her stops
came in the first half as she held Monmouth to just two goals in the period and
the Stags opened an insurmountable advantage.
