MAAC Rookie of the Week

CHRISTIAN VANGEISON, NIAGARA

Fr., OF/1B, 6-4, 210, Temecula, Calif./Murrieta Valley High School

Vangeison saw his first collegiate action in Niagara's three games last week, and the Temecula, Calif. native didn't disappoint.  The freshman went 1-for-2 with a two-RBI double on opening day against USC Upstate.  He followed up by reaching base all three times he went to the plate against Wofford.  The freshman with a 1-for-1, added another RBI, and drew a pair of walks in the 4.5 inning game.  In Sunday's tilt against Kentucky, Vangeison again recorded two RBIs and tallied his second double of the weekend in a game where he went 2-for-4 at the dish. He finished the weekend with a .571 batting average, a .667 on base percentage, and an .857 slugging percentage.  In total he brought in five RBIs and drew two walks.
