MAAC Player of the Week
Lauren Liseth, Fairfield, Jr., C, Centralia, Wash./Centralia HS
Liseth batted .750 over four games with four home runs and 11 RBI as the Stags opened their season by splitting four games at the East Carolina University Pirate Classic. She had nine hits in 12 at-bats over her four-game run and hit a home run in three of her four starts. She went three for four with four RBI in a win against East Carolina and followed with three hits in four at-bats with five RBI against Liberty. She capped the week with a solo home run against Notre Dame, a game in which she also walked twice in three plate appearances. She owned a 1.917 slugging percentage with a .765 on-base percentage.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
Jen Consaul, Canisius, Jr., RHP, 5-9, Chili, N.Y./Churchville-Chili
Consaul started her junior season by going 3-1 with a save and a 1.12 ERA in six appearances, as of Feb. 24. Consaul picked up her first win of the season Feb. 17 in Canisius' 10-2 win over St. Bonaventure and then she went on to pick up wins against St. Francis (Pa.) and North Carolina A&T Feb. 24. In the win over North Carolina A&T, her 20th career win in the circle as a Griff, she fanned a career-high 11 batters and gave up just two hits en route to her sixth career shutout win. She leads the Griffs' pitching staff with 25.0 innings of action where she has fanned 22 batter, and opponents are hitting just .187 off her this season.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Bethany DeMarco, Canisius, Fr., 3B, 5-3, Victor, N.Y./Victor
DeMarco started her college career off on the right foot as she hit .462 (6-for-13) with a double, five RBIs and two runs scored in five games through Feb. 24. After going hitless in her first two career games, DeMarco picked up her first career base hit against Bucknell Feb. 17 and then followed that with a 3-for-4 performance against St. Francis (Pa.) Feb. 24 where she drove in four runs and scored once in the team's 10-4 win over the Red Flash. She also had two hits against North Carolina A&T Feb. 24, highlighted by her first career extra base hit to go with an RBI and a run scored. Defensively, she has 13 putouts and seven assists and she has not committed an error in 20 fielding chances.
