Women's Lacrosse Weekly Award Winners Announced

Offensive Player of the Week
Melanie Raso, Fairfield, Jr., Midfielder, 5-4,
Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale
Raso led the Stags in points for the week with six goals
and two assists. She also had an
impressive 10 draw controls in the two games. She netted four goals and handed
out a pair of assists in the win over Sacred Heart. In that win Raso had a game-high seven draw
controls, to go along with three ground balls.
In the overtime game with undefeated UConn, Raso had a pair of goals,
including netting her only free position attempt. She had three more draw controls and an
additional three ground balls, as well as a caused turnover.
Defensive Player of the Week
Chelsey Sidaras, Fairfield, Fr., 5-11, Mastic Beach,
N.Y./William Floyd
Sidaras had impressive numbers in two games this week,
posting a 4.38 GAA and a .650 save percentage in two games and 96 minutes of
action. In earning her first career win,
and start, over Sacred Heart, she stopped seven shots and allowed just three
goals, in playing the entire game.
Sidaras took over at halftime of the Stags game versus UConn and in 36
minutes of action stopped six shots, helping the Stags force overtime versus
the unbeaten Huskies. She also had three ground balls and a caused turnover on
the week.
Rookie of the Week
Stefanie Ranagan, Manhattan, Fr., Attack, 5-7, Yorktown
Heights, N.Y./Yorktown
Freshman Stefanie Ranagan had six points over the last week
for Manhattan including a career day last Wednesday as she led the Jaspers to a
10-6 victory over LIU-Brooklyn. The 5'7" rookie had a game high five goals
in the win on just six shots. She was one goal shy of tying the program's single-game
rookie goals record in the contest. Ranagan scored two of her goals on
free-position shots, leading Manhattan to their first win of the day. She also
totalled four draw control wins over the course of two games.
