Jones & Adams Earn ECAC Division I All-Star Team Honors

Edison, N.J. – The ECAC Conference Office announced today the 2012-13 Division I All-Star teams for Division I Men's and Women's Basketball. Among the group, two Iona College student-athletes were honored. Lamont “MoMo” Jones was named to the Men’s First Team and Joy Adams was named the Women’s Rookie of the Year.
Jones, a native of Harlem, N.Y., was named the league’s 2013 Pepsi Max MAAC Men's Player of the Year and led the Gaels to their eighth MAAC title this year. The 6-0 Senior Guard led the conference in points per game tallying 23 per contest. Jones is shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 88.7 from behind the line. He also adds 1.2 steals and 3.5 assists per game.
Adams, a native of Orlando, Fl., earned the title of 2013 MAAC Rookie of the Year on the women’s side and earned a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team in her freshman campaign. The 5-11 forward led the league with 10.7 rebounds per game and averaged 13.0 points per game.
