MAAC Rookie of the Week
ROBERT MOORE, SAINT PETER’S
Fr., OF, 5-10, 190, Freehold, N.J./Freehold Boro
Rookie Robert Moore recorded his breakout series against the Canisius College Golden Griffins this weekend, to help lead the Peacocks to a 2-1 start in MAAC play. The outfielder finished 4-for-9 from the plate while scoring four of the Peacocks’ nine total runs. All four of his hits were doubles, to allow him to record an .889 slugging percentage against the Griffs. In the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, Moore went 3-for-4 with a walk and scored two runs to mark the second multi-hit game of his young career. The Peacocks’ series win over the Golden Griffins marked the first time Saint Peter's has bested Canisius in a three-game series since 2006. The series win also marked the sixth time in the last seven years that Saint Peter's has opened MAAC play with a series victory.
