Kotas, Morgan, and Croutier Take Home Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards

Offensive Player of the Week
Maria Kotas, Canisius, Jr., Midfielder, 5-3, Lancaster,
N.Y./Lancaster HS
Kotas
led the Canisius attack to its first win of the 2013 campaign, setting career
highs in a 13-7 victory over Binghamton. The junior recorded a personal-best
six points in the win, while matching her career high with four tallies,
including the game-winning score. Kotas also added four ground balls and three
draw controls.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lindsey Morgan, Canisius, Sr., Midfielder, 5-2, Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster HS
Morgan
anchored a strong defensive effort in a 13-7 victory at Binghamton, leading the
Griffs to their first win of the 2013 campaign. Morgan matched a school record
with eight caused turnovers to lead the Canisius defense. In the first half,
where the Griffs built a 5-1 lead, Canisius held Binghamton to just four shots
and forced the Bearcats into a turnover on 12-of-16 possessions, six of which
were forced by Morgan. The senior captain also added three points, two goals,
one assist, four ground balls and two draw controls.
Rookie of the Week
Sarah Croutier, Siena, Fr., Attack, 5-4, Rockville Centre,
N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial
Croutier had another huge week for the Saints tallying nine
goals in two games. She lit the lamp four times Wednesday against Vermont and
added a career-high five goals Saturday at Wagner. Croutier added five
groundballs and caused two turnovers last week.
