Marist College and Fairfield University have advanced to the finals of the MAAC Men's Tennis Championship after winning their semifinal matches against Loyola University and Niagara University, respectively.

The second-seeded Stags narrowly defeated third-seeded Niagara, winning 5-4 over the Purple Eagles. Niagara claimed the doubles point and earned wins in the fourth and sixth singles, but it was not enough to defeat the Stags.  It is the sixth consecutive trip to the championship match for both Marist and Fairfield.

Top-seeded Marist cruised into the final with a 4-0 victory over fourth-ranked Loyola. The Red Foxes will be looking to avenge their 4-3 lost in last year’s championship to Fairfield.

Fairfield defeated Marist last year as the #2 seed in the championship and snapped a four year Marist reign over the championships.

The men's championship match will begin at approximately 2 p.m.
