Marist Wins 2013 MAAC Women's Tennis Championship

#2 Marist defeated #1 Fairfield, 4-1, to claim the 2013 MAAC Women's Tennis Championship Finals. It is the fourth title in program history for the Red Foxes.

Fairfield  took a 1-0 lead after doubles as Monica Yajima and Karlene Pang won 8-6 at the first position and Victoria Pirrello and Marielle Campbell took an 8-5 decision at third position.

Marist even the score with solid play from Marielle Campbell, who cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 victory at the fourth singles. The Red Foxes then went on to win the first, third, and sixth singles to add another MAAC Championship.  

Kelsey Raynor was named the 2013 MAAC Women’s Tennis Championship Most Outstanding Performer. Raynor won in the first singles with a score of 6-3, 6-2.

Marist will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The Women’s Tennis NCAA Championships will begin on May 10th at the University of Illinois Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex.
