			Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Junior goalkeeper Marisa Gaynor was named Most Outstanding Performer as she helped guide second-seeded Iona College to an 12-10 victory over top-seeded Wagner College in the 2013 MAAC Women's Water Polo Championship Final, held at the McCann Natatorium on the campus of Marist College.
Junior utility Erika Lauritis, who made the All-MAAC Second Team, scored three goals in today's match.  MAAC Offensive Player of the Year Amy Olsen, junior utility Sarah Hanly and sophomore driver Katie Stelnicki netted two goals apiece for the Gaels.  First Team All-MAAC performer Alyssa Turza and freshmen Meghan Mahoney and Taylor Silva each added one goal for the Maroon and Gold.
Wagner freshman Lily Doerfler paced her team with four goals this afternoon.  Jessica Burdge scored three and Michelle Greenough recorded two goals.  Freshman attack Megan Rodriguez contributed one goal for the Seahawks.
Joining Gaynor on the All-Tournament Team are teammates Olsen and Turza, along with Laura Karbach and Burdge from Wagner, Shelby Rinker from Marist College and Hannah Ishida from Villanova University.
Iona receives the automatic berth to the NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship.  The NCAA Women’s Water Polo selection show will take place on Monday, April 29 on NCAA.com at 8 p.m.
