Hurley, Levell and Radin Earn Final Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors

Richie Hurley, Siena College

Hurley amassed 12 points as the Saints upset 10th ranked University of Albany and beat Virginia Military Insitute last week. On Tuesday, Hurley tied for the game-high with four points, leading the Saints to the program’s first-ever win over a top-10 team. Saturday Hurley scored on all seven shots he took and finished with a career-high eight points. In two games he totaled eight goals on 10 shots and four assists to go along with three groundballs. He also scored two man-up goals and recorded just the team’s second man-down goal of the season.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
A.J. Levell, University of Detroit Mercy
Sr., Goalkeeper, Farmington Hills, Mich. / Brother Rice
Levell stood tall with a season-high 18 saves, one away from his career high, in Detroit’s 13-7 win over Canisius, which clinched the final MAAC playoff spot. It was the eighth time in his nine starts on the season that he posted double-digit saves and the fifth time he has held a team under 10 goals. He allowed just seven goals and also had three ground balls.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Joseph Radin, Marist College
Fr., 6-1, Attack, Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach
Radin finished the regular season with a bang, contributing seven points in Marist’s two games last week on three goals and four assists. The freshman had one of his best games of the season with three goals and two assists in a road win at Saint Joseph’s University. Radin had a hand in each of Marist’s first four goals, coming in the first five minutes of the game, as the Red Foxes roared out to a 9-0 lead. He scored the first goal, caused a turnover and collected the ground ball that immediately led to the second goal, and assisted on the next two. In the regular season finale, Radin added two more assists while scooping up two more ground balls and causing another turnover
