Clive, Sharp and Hicks Earn Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors

MAAC Offensive Player of the Week

Colin Clive, Siena

Attack, Jr., Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony’s

 

Clive scored four goals, leading Siena to a 16-6 rout of defending MAAC Champion Canisius Saturday in Buffalo. Clive scored twice in the first half helping to build the lead and then scored consecutive goals midway through the third quarter as Siena went on a five-goal run doubling its lead to 10 goals to put the game away. Clive also picked up two groundballs in the win.

MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

Matt Sharp, Siena

Goalkeeper, Sr., Winchester, Mass./Winchester

 

Sharp allowed a season-low six goals and made 11 saves, leading Siena to a 16-6 rout of defending MAAC Champion Canisius in Buffalo. Sharp saved 64.7% of the shots he faced in an impressive all-around effort.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

Damien Hicks, Detroit

Midfielder, Rf., Copiague, N.Y. / Copiague

Hicks won a career-best 12-of-16 faceoffs with five ground balls. He set the tone right from the start winning the first two faceoffs that led to two goals by Detroit in the first two minutes as Detroit never trailed in the game. It was the seventh time this season he has won more than 50% of his faceoffs in a game, and he is now 35-of-59 (59.3%) in MAAC play.
