2013 MAAC Softball Championship Continues Friday

Day two of the 2013 MAAC Softball Championship includes the conclusion of one game in addition to three games originally slated to play on Friday, May 10 at Softball Park at Gartland Field on the campus of Marist College.
After play was suspended due to darkness, game two featuring top-seeded Siena College and fourth-seeded Niagara University will resume at 10 a.m. Friday. Niagara has a 3-2 lead over Siena at the top of the sixth inning.
Game three is slated to begin at 11 a.m., featuring the winner of game two vs. third-seeded Marist College. Marist advanced to game three with a 3-1 victory over second-seeded Fairfield University in game one on Thursday.
Fairfield will take on the loser of game two in game four, an elimination game, at 1 p.m. Friday. The final game of the day will be game five, featuring the loser of game three vs. the winner of game four at approximately 3 p.m.
The winners of games three and five will then play in the championship round on Saturday, May 11. Game six will begin at noon, and if necessary, game seven will start at 2 p.m.

The winner of the 2013 MAAC Softball Championship will earn the league’s automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I Softball Championship. The NCAA selection show will be on Sunday, May 12 at 10 p.m., live on ESPNU.
