Marist Softball Takes Game Three, 2-0 over Niagara

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Third-seeded Marist College took a 2-0 victory over fourth-seeded Niagara University in game three of the 2013 MAAC Softball Championship at Marist’s Softball Park at Gartland Field.

Both of the Red Foxes’ runs came in the top of the fourth inning as Janine Lalli hit a two-run homer off the left field foul pole.

Emily Osterhaus improved to 13-9 on the season with the win, allowing just two hits and striking out four batters.  Jenn Sansano dropped to 11-12 on the season, giving up four hits while fanning eight batters.

Marist will play the winner of today’s Game 5 in Game 6, which is slated for a noon start on Saturday, May 11.
