Fairfield Softball Claims 3-0 Win Over Siena in Game 4

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – Second-seeded Fairfield claimed a 3-0 victory over top-seeded Siena College in game four of the 2013 MAAC Softball Championship at Softball Park at Gartland Field on the campus of Marist College.

The Stags got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning, as Lauren Filicia rounded the bases on a single, two stolen bases and a sacrifice bunt.

Fairfield added another run in the third, with Brianna Levick knocking her home run ball over the right field fence.

The final run came in the bottom of the sixth when 2013 MAAC Player of the Year Lauren Liseth scored off of Filicia’s single to centerfield.

Rae Ball earned the win and improved to 14-9 in the circle.  Jessika-Jo Sandrini ended the season at 15-9.

Fairfield will play Niagara in Game 5 at approximately 3:15 p.m. Friday.
