Siena Will Play in MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Game

Buffalo, NY – The third seeded Siena College Saints advanced past the second seeded Jacksonville University Dolphins with a final score of 11-8 in the second semifinal game of the 2013 Men's Lacrosse Championship at Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y.

The Saints came out strong in the first quarter outscoring Jacksonville 4-0. Siena led the entire game with goals coming from seven of their players. Goalkeeper Matt Sharp had 13 saves in the net and picked up two ground balls. Colin Clive was named the Pepsi Max Player of the Game, finishing the night with two goals and two assists.

Jacksonville made a final push at the end, but it was not enough to top Siena. The 2013 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Peter DeLuca picked up four groundballs and had four saves on the night. TJ Kenary led Jacksonville with three of their goals and scooped up two groundballs.

Siena will play the fourth seeded University of Detroit Mercy Titans in the Championship Final match on Sunday. The Titans advanced after defeating Marist 7-6 in the earlier semifinal match-up. Siena and Detroit last met up in the Championship Final in 2011, where the Championship was also hosted in Buffalo, N.Y.
