STEVE LAURINO, MARIST

Laurino had 13 hits in Marist's six games this week, which included a three-game road MAAC sweep of Saint Peter's. Laurino batted .565 (13-for-23) with a slugging percentage of .739. He had nine runs batted in, four runs scored, four doubles and two sacrifice flies. In Marist's non-conference road victory against Binghamton on April 30, Laurino was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, an RBI, a double and a sacrifice fly. He singled twice in a seven-inning game at Brown on May 1. He then keyed Marist's doubleheader sweep at Saint Peter's on May 4 by going a combined 7-for-10 (4-for-6 in game one, 3-for-4 in game two) with six RBIs, two runs scored and three doubles. In the final game of the series on May 5, Laurino was 2-for-4 with two RBIs in Marist's 7-6 win. He also finished the week with a 1.000 fielding percentage in 11 chances in the field.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
MATT GAGE, SIENA
So., LHP, 6-4, 255, Gloversville, N.Y./Broadalbin-Perth
Gage turned in one of the signature performances in the MAAC this season – a three-hit shutout of red-hot Canisius in Sunday’s series finale. Gage went all nine innings, struck out four and walked just one. He never allowed a Canisius player to reach third base, and threw 76 of his 107 pitches for strikes. Gage retired the Griffs in order in the second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings, and faced just four men over the minimum. Gage lowered his season ERA to 3.29 and his MAAC ERA to a team-best 1.72.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
MATT PAGANO, MARIST
Fr., OF, 5-11, 170, Cranston, R.I./Bridgton Academy
Pagano hit .524 (11-for-21) with an on-base percentage of .600, slugging percentage of .667 and seven runs scored in Marist's six games this week. He hit safely in each game, and enjoyed four multi-hit games. In a non-conference win at Binghamton on April 30, he was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI and run scored. He was 2-for-3 with an RBI in the first game of a doubleheader at Brown on May 1, and 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two walks in the second game. In Marist's doubleheader sweep at Saint Peter's on May 4, he was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in game one, and 3-for-4 with two runs scored in game two. In the series finale at Saint Peter's on May 5, Pagano was 2-for-3 with a run scored, hit by pitch and sacrifice bunt. He also had a 1.000 fielding percentage this week.
