MAAC Player of the Week

Lauren Liseth, Fairfield, Jr., Catcher, Centralia, Wash./Centralia HS

Liseth reached base nine times in of 12 plate appearances, stroking four hits and earning five walks. She batted .667 for the week with a .750 on-base percentage and a 1.333 slugging percentage. She posted three extra base hits with two doubles and a triple and also added four RBI. Against Rider, she went four for four with four RBI and three extra base hits.

MAAC Pitcher of the Week

Jessika - Jo Sandrini, Siena, Jr., P, 5-6, Adna, Wash./Adna

Sandrini enjoyed a historic week, both team wise and individual wise.  The junior became the program’s all-time win leader recoding four wins, to bring her career total to 36, while recording a 0.88 ERA.  Sandrini helped her team to its first-ever share of a MAAC regular season championship, striking out seven in five and a third to get the win in the opener.  In the closer, she came in relief and worked a scoreless two and a third.  At one point this week, she had a 10.2 innings scoreless streak, including retiring all seven hitters she faced against Canisius to clinch the first playoff spot since 2003.  At the plate, Sandrini batted .429 while scoring five runs and recording a .600 on-base-percentage.

MAAC Rookie of the Week

Alyssa Lancaster, Siena, Fr., 5-11, Hanover Park, Ill./Schaumberg

Lancaster batted .467 (7-for-15) while driving in four and scoring three times in Siena’s historic week.  In the first game against Marist, Lancaster tallied three hits and scored twice allowing Siena to have a chance at the regular season title.  She went a perfect 2-for-2 in the opener against Canisius.  In the circle, she recorded a 2.74 ERA in her 7.2 innings pitched.
