Cummings, Weiner, Dodway and Tobias with Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Dylan Cummings from Marist College was named the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Fairfield University’s Sierra Weiner earned the MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Both the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Diver of the Week came from Marist College, and they are Josh Dodway and Kimberly Tobias.
The MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week is Dylan Cummings from Marist College. Cummings placed first in all three events he competed in during Marist’s 126-111 victory at Fordham on Oct. 23 that helped the Red Foxes remain unbeaten. He registered a pair of victories in individual events, winning the 200-yard IM in 1:57.43 and taking the 200-yard backstroke in 1:53.90. He was the anchor of Marist’s 400-yard medley relay team that swam the fastest time in the program’s dual meet history (3:31.32).
Sierra Weiner from Fairfield University is the MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the week. Weiner posted three individual victories and broke two program records in the home meet against Fordham on October 24 at the RecPlex Pool. Weiner captured the 100m butterfly with a time of 1:05.72, breaking her own program record of 1:06.28 previously set on October 18, 2014 in her first ever collegiate swim meet. In the 400m IM, she earned first place points with a time of 5:07.38, breaking the previous program record of 5:10.12 set by Brittany Hunter on January 16, 2004. Weiner also posted a winning time of 2:09.11 in the 200m freestyle, for a personal best.
Josh Dodway from Marist College is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week. Dodway won both diving events in Marist’s 126-111 victory at Fordham on Oct. 23. He qualified for the 1-meter dive at the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships by racking up a score of 304.65 points in the event. Dodway also finished first in the 3-meter dive, scoring 291.08 points.
The MAAC Women’s Diver of Week is Marist College’s Kimberly Tobias. Tobias qualified for the NCAA Zone Qualifier Diving Championships in Marist’s second meet of the season Oct. 23 at Fordham by scoring 281.70 points in the 3-meter dive. She also won the 1-meter event with a score of 250.95 points.
