Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Ignacio Maganto, Iona

Sr., F, 5-7, Madrid, Spain/Nuestra Senora del Pilar

Senior Ignacio Maganto tallied three points on a goal and assist in Iona's 3-1 win over Manhattan.  Maganto scored what turned out to be the game-winner in the 45th minute when he connected on a side scissor kick goal off a feed from sophomore Teddy Forson.  Maganto then set up the third Iona goal in the 48th minute, when his corner kick resulted in a header goal by Jordan Scarlett.

Wilson Defensive Player of the Week

Eric Klenofsky, Monmouth

So., GK, 6-6, Lincoln Park, N.J./DePaul Catholic

Klenofsky posted his 11th and 12th shutouts of the season against Saint Peter’s and Siena this week. He made four saves against the Peacocks and tied his career high with seven in the MAAC Quarterfinals against the Saints. The 180 scoreless minutes helped Klenofsky improve his NCAA Division I leading goals against average and save percentage to 0.36 and .907, respectively. With Klenofsky as the Hawks’ last line of defense, Monmouth allowed just two goals in MAAC play, the fewest in at least the last 10 years (as far back as complete MAAC stats are available). With Klenofsky in net last season, the Hawks allowed three goals in MAAC play.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Andrew Gee, Monmouth

Fr., M, 6-3, Cranford, N.J./Cranford

Gee was instrumental in the Hawks’ MAAC Championship Quarterfinal victory over Siena, assisting on Miguel Alves’ game-winning goal before scoring a goal of his own. Gee played the ball wide to Dom Sarle, who crossed the ball in front to Alves, who headed in the Hawks’ first goal of the game in the 29th minute. Just over 11 minutes later, Derek Luke served the ball into the box, where Gee headed it in from close range. The goal and assist were the first of Gee’s career.
