Warner, Graesser, Quarantillo and Steinberger with Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Shawn Warner of Niagara University is the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. The MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week is Canisius College’s Hannah Graesser. Canisius College Senior Eddie Quarantillo is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week, while Fairfield College’s Ashlee Steinberger earned the award on the women’s side.
Sophomore Shawn Warner of Niagara University is the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the week and he helped the Purple Eagles in a non-conference victory against Colgate this past weekend. Warner, who was also part of the winning 200 yard medley relay team (1:37.98), won the 1000 yard freestyle (9:47.60) and 500 yard freestyle (4:41.99).
The MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week is Canisius College’s Hannah Graesser. Sophomore Hannah Graesser was terrific for the Golden Griffins on Saturday afternoon, when the team took on Colgate University in a dual-meet at the Koessler Athletic Center Pool. Graesser won the 50-yard freestyle against the Raiders with a time of 24.55 and then also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.98, setting the Koessler Athletic Center Pool record in the process.
Senior Eddie Quarantillo of Canisius College is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week. Quarantillo continues the hot-start to his 2014-15 season, breaking another Canisius Pool and School record. This time the senior from Lewiston, N.Y., won the men’s 1-meter diving contest against Colgate University on Saturday afternoon and also won the men’s 3-meter diving contest with a score of 348.97, which set the Canisius school record and the pool record. Quarantillo was a big part of the Griffs men’s squad victory over the Raiders.
The MAAC Women’s Diver of the Week is Ashlee Steinberger from Fairfield University. Steinberger qualified for the final rounds of both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for the women at the Terrier Invitational on November 21-23 at Boston University’s Competition Pool. In the final 1-meter event, Steinberger posted a 224.10 to finish fifth overall. On the 3-meter board, she recorded a final 211.20 to place sixth. Steinberger was the top finisher for Fairfield and was diving against big competition
