EDISON, N.J. – Ben Schulte of Bryant University is the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. The MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week is Iona College’s Elizabeth Kaczmarek. Eddie Quarantillo of Canisius College was named the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week, while Taylor Epstein , another Golden Griffin, earned the award on the women’s side.

Schulte a freshman from Bryant University was awarded the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. He won three individual events to help Bryant defeat Iona 158-140. Schulte won the 200 free with a first place time of 1:45.25 and he won the 500 free with a time of 4:47.96.In his final event the 200 Individual Medlsey, Schulte was victorious with a time of 1:56.25. He has now won eight events in his first three collegiate meets.

Freshman Elizabeth Kaczmarek of Iona College is the MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Kaczmarek recorded three individual victories to help the Gaels to a non-conference meet victory over Bryant.  She picked up wins in the 200-Free (1:57.56), 500-Free (5:16.50) and 200-IM (2:14.32), with all three times in the Top 10 all-time for Iona.

Senior Eddie Quarantillo of Canisius College is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week. He had yet another huge performance for the Golden Griffins, as the senior from Lewiston, N.Y. won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events over the SUNY Geneseo Knights on Saturday. Quarantillo won the 1-meter with a score of 258.90 and won the 3-meter with a score of 279.95. This was the second time that Quarantillo has swept the diving events for the Blue and Gold with the first coming over MAAC rival Marist during week one of the season.

Taylor Epstein a senior diver from Canisius College is the MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. She helped lead the Golden Griffins swimming and diving team to its second consecutive sweep of the SUNY Geneseo Knights on Saturday afternoon as the Blue and Gold hosted their first home meet of the 2014-2015 season. Epstein won the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events with scores of 212.10 and 231.15. This was the first time this season that the diver swept the competition in her respected events.
