Molloy & Marist Trio with Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Zack Molloy of Rider University is the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. The MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week is Marist College’s Karly Haraden. Marist College’s Josh Dodway is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week, while Marist College’s Megan Berardelli takes home the award on the women’s side.
Rider University freshman Zack Molloy is the MAAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week. Molloy had one of the best weeks in recent memory for the Bronc swim team, setting three Rider records and winning three events at the Brown Invitational, against perennial Ivy League powers including Princeton. Molloy won the 200 free in a Rider record time of 1:37.61 and also set a record in the 500 free with a time of 4:25.04. He also finished first in the 1650 free in a Rider record time of 15:29.96. Molloy was also eighth in the 100 free finals on Sunday with a time of 47.27 and swam on the sixth place 400 free relay which finished with a time of 3:04.90. He also swam on the sixth place 800 free relay (6:47.65). Zack Molloy is the brother of current Bronc sophomore William Molloy and Rider swimming alum Brian Molloy who was named the 2012-13 Rider Male Athlete of the Year after leading the Broncs to back to back MAAC Championships.
The MAAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week is Marist College’s Karly Haraden. Haraden’s first-place time of 17:28.20 in the 1,650-yard freestyle helped the Red Foxes beat Iona (247-117) and Saint Peter’s (250-110) at the H2ounds Invitational. She came in third place out of 20 competitors in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.85. Haraden swam the third leg on Marist’s 800-yard freestyle relay team, which clocked in at 7:46.44 for second place.
Junior Josh Dodway of Marist College is the MAAC Men’s Diver of the Week. Dodway won the 3-meter and 1-meter dives at the H2ounds Invitational from December 5-6 to help Marist defeat a pair of MAAC opponents. He racked up 301.70 points at three meters to claim first place and exceed the NCAA Qualifying Standard on December 5. Dodway followed up by scoring 287.70 points to win the 1-meter event December 6.
The MAAC Women’s Diver of the Week is Megan Berardelli from Marist College. Berardelli won the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.55 points in a field of eight competitors at the H2ounds Invitational on December 6. She finished second in the 1-meter dive December 5 with 223.00 points. She had a combined score of 495.55 points in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
