MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Richie Hurley, Siena College
R-Jr., A, 6-1, 184, Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville
Hurley tallied 11 points, dishing out 10 assists in two games last week for the Saints. On Wednesday the red-shirt junior captain factored in the scoring on seven of the Saints’ nine goals against Robert Morris, accumulating a career-high seven assists. The conference’s leading scorer added four more points scoring a man-up goal and adding three assists in Saturday’s win over defending MAAC Co-Regular Season Champion Marist. Hurley currently ranks fourth nationally in assists per game (3.0) and fifth in points per game (5.0).
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Gill Conners, Quinnipiac University
Sr., G, 6-2, 215, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Gill Conners continued his hot streak between the pipes with two stellar performances this past week. He totaled 26 saves and compiled a 6.50 goals against average in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. Conners made 12 saves in the team’s first game against Hartford, while holding the Hawks to just six goals in the game. Over the weekend, Conners picked up his first MAAC win with 14 saves against Manhattan College. He posted a .667 save percentage for the week, and added to his nationally ranked figures. He lowered his season goals against average to 7.64 and upped his save percentage to .663. He leads the nation in save percentage and ranks top five in goals against average and goals allowed. He also had eight ground balls in the two games.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Jordan Barlow, Siena College
Fr., A, 5-9, 155, Glastonbury, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford
Barlow tallied five points scoring four goals and added five groundballs in two games last week for the Saints. He netted his third hat trick of the season and finished with four points Wednesday against Robert Morris, and scored the game-tying goal with 2:48 remaining in regulation. Barlow added another goal Saturday as the Saints defeated defending MAAC Regular Season Co-Champion Marist.
