2014 MAAC Men's Basketball Championship Seeds Revealed

EDISON, N.J. – The seeds are set for the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Championships, March 6-10, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
Top-seeded Iona earned a first round bye and will face the winner of the #8 vs. #9 first round game, Rider vs. Monmouth. The defending champion Gaels will open play in the Championship on Saturday, March 8 at noon.
The No. 2 seed, Manhattan, will open play in the championship when it faces the winner of the #7 vs. #10 contest, Saint Peter’s vs. Fairfield, also in the quarterfinals.
One other first round game features the #6 seed, Marist, vs. #11 seeded Niagara.
The remaining two quarterfinal round games will pit #3 Quinnipiac vs. the winner of the Marist vs. Niagara game, and #4 Canisius vs. #5 Siena.
The three opening round contests will be played on March 6, beginning at 5:00 p.m. The quarterfinals will be played on Saturday, March 8, starting at noon, and the semifinals will be on Sunday, March 9 at 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.
The 2014 MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship title game will be played at 7:00 p.m. and will
be televised on ESPN2.
