Siena Cruises Past Manhattan in First Round Contest

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – No. 10 Siena College defeated No. 7 Manhattan College 87-66 in Thursday afternoon’s first round game of the 2014 MAAC Women's Basketball Championship.
Siena used their pressure defense to force Manhattan into 15 turnovers, which the Saints converted into 25 points. Siena led most of the way in the contest and had a lead as large as 25 points in the second half.
Ida Krogh and Tehresa Coles both scored 16 points, while Kelsey Booth added 15 points and Kanika Cummings contributed 14 points off the bench for the Saints.
Manhattan was led by Nicole Isaacs with 20 points and Ashley Stec with 13 points. Shayna Ericksen recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Siena will face No. 2 Marist College in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
