Offensive Player of the Week
Tierney Larson, Marist
Sr., Attack, 5-6, Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe
Senior captain Tierney Larson had a standout week for the Red Foxes, helping lead her team to two more MAAC victories. In Marist’s 19-7 triumph over Niagara, Larson tallied eight points, including two goals and six assists. She converted on both of her shots on goal. Marist picked up a 15-13 overtime win against Quinnipiac on Sunday, improving to 4-0 in conference play. Larson recorded five points, including three goals and two assists. Larson had the game-winning goal in the second overtime period to earn the Red Foxes the win. Larson had a total of 13 points in two games, including five goals and eight assists.
Defensive Player of the Week
Maria Kotas, Canisius
Sr., Midfielder, 5-3, Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster
Kotas caused seven turnovers, collected eight draw controls and picked up six ground balls in a pair of wins for the Griffs this week. In Wednesday’s 20-8 victory over Siena, Kotas caused four turnovers, picked up four ground balls and won four draw controls and did so while scoring four goals and picking up two assists on the offensive end. Kotas won another four draw controls in Saturday’s win over Manhattan, while causing three turnovers and collecting two ground balls. She also chipped in another two goals and an assist.
Rookie of the Week
Erin Pugh, Iona
Fr., Midfielder, 5-10, Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh
Freshman Erin Pugh scored three goals and grabbed two ground balls and three draw controls in league action this past week. Pugh opened the week with a goal on four shots against Quinnipiac. She then followed it up with a two goal effort against Niagara, a game in which she put four shots on goal. Pugh also recorded a turnover in the game.
