MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Nate Barry, Siena College
Jr., Midfielder, 6-0, 165, Holderness, N.H./New Hampton School
Barry scored the game-tying goal with 4:02 remaining in regulation and fired home the game-winner with 3:07 left in overtime as Siena knocked off defending MAAC Champion Detroit 9-8 in the Motor City to clinch a MAAC Tournament berth. Barry added two assists to finish with a season-high four points. The Saints’ junior midfielder also picked up two groundballs and caused a turnover.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Tommy Cordts, Siena College
R-So., Goalkeeper, 5-11, 185, East Northport, N.Y./Northport
Cordts made 12 saves, posting a 60% save percentage and 7.88 goals against average in the Saints’ 9-8 overtime road win at defending MAAC Champion Detroit which clinched the Saints a conference tournament berth. Cordts made four of his saves in the fourth quarter, allowing the Saints to rally to force, and eventually win, in overtime. The red-shirt sophomore also picked up a season-high four groundballs and has posted a stellar 7.33 goals against average and .613 save percentage over the past seven games.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Zach Vehar, Quinnipiac University
Fr., Attack/Faceoff, 5-9, 175 Hudson, Ohio/ Hudson
Vehar played a huge role in Quinnipiac’s six-goal fourth quarter comeback on Saturday afternoon against Canisius. He was 19-of-25 (.760) on the faceoff, a career high for the Hudson, Ohio native, while also collecting a career high 14 ground balls in the game. He was 6-of-7 from the X when Quinnipiac mounted its furious comeback in the final 15 minutes. In the first half, Vehar netted his second goal of the season as well.
