2014 Women's Tennis All-MAAC Teams Announced

Edison, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced the members of the 2014 Women’s Tennis All-MAAC teams, highlighted by Quinnipiac University’s Sophia Dzulynsky, who was selected as the league’s Player of the Year while Niagara University’s Paulina Velasquez was named Rookie of the Year.
Quinnipiac head coach Mike Quitko was named 2014 Anaconda Sports Coach of the Year.
Dzulynsky, a sophomore from Miramar, Fla., finished the regular season with an overall record of 15-12 and a 5-2 mark in MAAC play. She ended the regular season with a record of 9-9 in first singles play. Dzulynsky also earned a spot on the All-MAAC First Team at No. 1 Doubles with her partner Sydney Young.
Velasquez, a freshman from Queens, N.Y., finished the regular season as a Purple Eagle with an overall record of 21-6 including a perfect 8-0 record in the MAAC playing in the No. 3 position. Velasquez also received All-MAAC First Team honors at No. 3 Singles.
Quitko, currently in his 23rd year as the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis programs, led the Bobcats to an overall record of 11-10 and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play.
