The Final Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards of the Season Announced

Offensive Player of the Week

Erin Mossop, Siena?

Jr.,?Attack,?5-8,?Guilderland, N.Y./ Guilderland

Mossop tallied eight points on three goals and five assists in a 1-1 week for the Saints. She tallied a game-high five points including a season-high four assists in the Saints’ narrow 10-9 loss to eventual MAAC Co-Regular Season Champion Marist Wednesday. Mossop added two more goals and an assist as the Saints posted a 12-11 road win at Iona in the season finale Saturday. The junior from Guilderland, N.Y. also added three groundballs and caused a turnover during the week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Christina Fiorinelli, Manhattan

Fiorinelli played very well in the Jaspers' final week of the season, making 16 saves over the?last two games of the spring. In Manhattan's final MAAC game of 2014, the junior stepped up with a 10-save performance in a 12-2 victory over Iona on Wednesday afternoon. In the final contest of the spring, Saturday night's meeting with Columbia, Fiorinelli made six saves. She also picked up seven ground balls on the week.

Rookie of the Week

Abigail Witczak, Marist?

Freshman goalkeeper Abigail Witczak led her team to another conference win this past week alongside a share of the MAAC Regular Season Championship. Witczak made a combined nine saves for a save percentage of 30 percent. In Marist’s 10-9 win over Siena, she made five saves, collected one ground ball, and had one caused turnover. Against Monmouth, Witczak made four saves and collected one ground ball.
