Shayne Adams, University of Detroit Mercy

The Titans needed offense and they needed it quick to come back from an early 5-1 hole against Marist and Adams provided it with a season-high six goals and tying his career high with seven points. His six goals came on just seven shots – with all seven on goal – and he also had two ground balls. He started the scoring by giving Detroit a 1-0 lead on his 100th career marker, and then had his 18th career hat trick by the end of the first. His fourth goal tied the game at 7-7, fifth goal gave UDM a 9-8 lead and his last knotted it at 10-all late in the third as the Titans came back to win from the second largest deficit in school history in the pivotal MAAC contest.
MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Alex Govenettio, Canisius College
GK, Jr., 5-10, 165, Derby, N.Y./Lake Shore HS
Govenettio anchored a strong Canisius defense to a win against Manhattan, posting a 4.00 goals against average and .714 save percentage during the week. He recorded 10 saves against the Jaspers on Saturday, including six in the final quarter as the Griffs held on for the victory.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
Jeff Edwards, Canisius College
M, Fr., 6-2, 175, Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt HS
Edwards led the Griffs to a MAAC win against Manhattan on Saturday, recording a career-best five points -- including his first collegiate hat trick. The rookie posted three goals and two assists in the win with four of his points coming in a key third-quarter run. Edwards registered two goals and two assists as Canisius outscored Manhattan 5-2 in the third to turn a 3-1 halftime advantage into an 8-3 lead.
