Offensive Player of the Week
Laura McCormick, Rider
Sr., M/F, 5-6, West Windsor, N.J./Sacred Heart
McCormick had a goal and an assist in Rider’s 2-1 win at Towson on September 21, giving Bronc head coach Lori Hussong her 200th career win. With the game scoreless, McCormick assisted on a shot she took from the top of the circle which was tipped in for a score. McCormick later blasted another shot, deflecting the ball off the post to notch her first goal of the season and second career goal.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tanja Kloock, Monmouth
Jr., GK, 5-9, Kiel, Germany/Ernst Barlach Gymnasium
Tanja Kloock made her collegiate debut in the Hawks setback against Northeastern, playing just over 10 minutes, not being forced to make a save. The rookie earned the starting job against Davidson, her first career start, and turned away three shots to earn the victory.
Rookie of the Week
Michelle Federico, Quinnipiac
Fr., M, 5-5, Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire
The Bobcats’ rookie posted her first three points of her career in two games this week. Federico started the week with a bang as her second half goal against UMass Lowell tied the score at 2-2. Federico’s first career tally came off a penalty corner rebound that kicked out front where she was waiting at the far post for the open goal. On Sunday at Vermont, Federico zipped a 70-foot pass across the length of the field to Savanna Reilly who buried the goal to the far corner. Federico’s assist on the goal was the first of her career while it also resulted in the second-fastest goal scored for Quinnipiac in a road game in program history.
