“This is when the excitement really begins to build,” said MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor. “In a little more than a month, we’re going to fill the Times Union Center with some of the best championship college basketball in the nation. Given the closeness of both the men’s and women’s conference seasons to date, it is shaping up to be a classic championships weekend.”

“I could not be more excited to have the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship back in Albany this coming March," said Bob Belber, SMG Regional General Manager of the Times Union Center. "The teams in the MAAC are all very competitive and Siena will be battling with the rest of the field for an opportunity to win the championship and get an automatic bid into the NCAA ‘Big Dance’. Seeing this level of college basketball live at the Times Union Center produces memories people retain for years. I am reminding Capital Region residents as well as the fans of the teams coming into Albany from the other MAAC schools to 'See it Live' and come to the tournament in March."

"Community support for the 2015 MAAC Championships has been wonderful,” said Gary Holle, Director of Sales for the Times Union Center. “Welcome Sponsors include Price Chopper, Berkshire Bank and Renaissance Hotels. Other sponsors that have already signed up are: First Niagara Bank, Clearly Yours Gifts, Capital District Transportation Authority, Civil Service Employees Association and DeNooyer Chevrolet for the on-going #MAACMondays social media promotion. Additional sponsors are signing up to gain exposure and help support the MAAC FanFest on Saturday and Sunday."

The MAAC, headquartered in Edison, N.J., consists of an 11 member institution: Canisius College, Fairfield University, Iona College, Manhattan College, Marist College, Monmouth University, Niagara University, Quinnipiac University, Rider University, Saint Peter's University and Siena College. The MAAC men’s and women’s basketball champions will each receive an automatic bid into the NCAA National Championship Tournament.
