Senior David Laury had a pair of double-doubles in Iona’s two contests on the road last week averaging 24.0 points and 10.5 rebounds at Massachusetts and Siena. Laury posted 24 points in each contest and grabbed 11 rebounds versus the Minutemen and 10 against the Saints. He shot 54.8 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc and 75 percent from the free throw line. Laury also averaged 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.0 block. He has recorded seven double doubles this season, all within his last nine appearances. With two more this past week, he extended his season-long streak to three straight.

Matt Scott averaged 10 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per game as the Niagara Purple Eagles went 2-1 last week. In Niagara’s win over Manhattan on Friday, Scott scored a game-high 23 points on 7 of 11 shooting from the field, 2-for-4 behind the arc and went 7-for-10 at the free-throw line. His 23 points are the most by a Purple Eagle this season. For the week, Scott shot 47 percent from the field, 33 percent from behind the 3-point line and 77 percent from the free-throw line.
