Lundgren, Riddle and Allen Earn Water Polo Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Jess Lundgren and Emily Riddle of Wagner College, and Kayla Allen of Iona College are named the MAAC Water Polo Weekly Award Winners of the Week
Jess Lundgren of Wagner College is this week's MAAC Offensive Player of the Week. Lundgren (Queensland, Australia / Mountain Creek) netted an impressive 10 goals and recorded five assists in two contests on February 7 at the Princeton Invitational. The Australian native scored five goals in separate victories over Ivy League members Harvard and Brown. Lundgren also drew four exclusions and had five steals between the two games
Emily Riddle of Wagner College is the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week. Riddle (Edmonton, Alberta / Dr. E.P. Scarlett) was impressive in the cage this weekend at the Princeton Invitational as she recorded 12 blocks between the two Seahawk victories. The goalie had a goals against average of 8.5 on the weekend.
Kayla Allen of Iona College is the MAAC rookie of the week. Allen registered seven goals for the Maroon & Gold at the Princeton Invitational. Allen opened the weekend with four goals and four steals against Brown, before adding one goal against Indiana. Allen then scored two goals and grabbed two steals against Harvard.
The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championships will be held on April 25-26 at the Marist College Natatorium.
