Offensive Player of the Week
Mike Begley, Marist
Sr., Midfield, 5-11, Brookeville, Md./Sherwood
Begley posted a hat trick in Marist’s 2015 season opener at Air Force on February 14. He scored two of his three goals in the fourth quarter of the Red Foxes’ 7-6 win including the game winning goal and scooped up a team-leading four ground balls.
Defensive Player of the Week
Dave Scarcello, Marist
Sr., Goalie, 5-11, Buffalo, N.Y./Bishop Timon St.Jude
Scarcello made 14 saves in the Red Foxes’ 7-6 victory at Air Force on February 14. He helped Marist hold the Falcons scoreless over the final 2:35 to preserve the victory. He chipped in three ground balls in the 2015 season opener.
Rookie of the Week
Mark Anstead, Detroit
Fr., Attack, 5-11, Potomac, Md./Gonzaga
Anstead made the start once again for the Titans and led the team with three points and had a team-high two assists at Michigan. He also picked up a ground ball. He got the offense going by hooking up with Shayne Adams twice for Detroit’s first two goals and added his second marker of the year in the middle of the second period. Through two games, he is tied for the team lead with five points and has a team-best three assists.
