Player of the Week

Molly Jarret, Quinnipiac

Jr., INF, 5-7, Northport, N.Y./Northport

At the First Pitch Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina, Molly Jarrett batted a team-high .571 (4-for-7) in three games at the Bobcats’ season opening tournament. Against Army in a 7-5 win, Jarrett was 1-for-3 with two RBI’s. Against Charlotte, Jarrett was 1-for-2 with a walk. In the final game of the series, Jarrett went 2-for-2 with a home run.

Pitcher of the Week

Casey Herzog, Quinnipiac

Fr., Pitcher, 5-5, Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Roy C Ketcham High School

Freshman hurler Casey Herzog, made her collegiate debut at the First Pitch Classic this weekend, collecting her first career hit in the Bobcats’ season-opener against Ohio. The Wappingers Falls, New York native made four appearances out of the bullpen for the Bobcats pitching a total of 10 innings. She picked up a save in relief in a 7-5 win against Army on Friday, and threw seven strikeouts on the week.

Rookie of the Week

Miranda Magana, Quinnipiac

Fr., Utility, 5-6, Santa Paula, Calif./Santa Paula

Miranda Magana batted .400 (4-for-10) with a team-high two runs scored at the First Pitch Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina. Magana was 2-for-2 in her collegiate debut against Ohio on Friday, Feb. 13 before going 2-for-3 with a run scored in a win against Army.
